RootsTech 2017.

RootsTech is the largest genealogy conference in the world. It is held in Salt Lake City each February and is hosted by FamilySearch International. RootsTech 2017  will be held February 8-11, 2017. It is attended by thousands of genealogy enthusiasts in person and is simulcast to locations around the world! There is a huge exhibit hall filled with the latest from providers of genealogy products and services. Over 200 breakout sessions provide new and seasoned genealogists alike the opportunity to learn. In addition, there are amazing keynotes to inspire and motivate!

This year's lineup of keynote speakers and special guests is phenomenal. Let's review who has been announced so far.

Keynote Speakers.

Liz Wiseman

Liz Wiseman will be a keynote speaker on Wednesday as part of the Innovator Summit. Liz teaches leadership to executives and emerging leaders around the world. She is president of The Wiseman Group.

Buddy Valastro (Cake Boss)

Buddy Valastro is an entrepreneur and TV personality of Italian heritage. Known as the "Cake Boss," Buddy will be a keynote speaker on Family Discovery Day

Levar Burton

Next in our list, Levar is an accomplished actor and storyteller. Famous as the host of The Reading Rainbow and his role on Star Trek: The Next Generation, attendees of RootsTech 2017 will be sure to enjoy Levar Burton's keynote on Friday morning.


Drew and Jonathan Scott (Property Brothers)

The latest announcement from the RootsTech organizers are the Property Brothers! Canadian TV stars from the hit show, Property Brothers will be joining the lineup of keynote presenters.


Kalani Sitake

Kalani is in his first year as head coach of the BYU Cougars football team. Coach Sitake is of Tongan descent and will certainly bring a unique perspective as a RootTech 2017 keynote speaker!


Vai Sikahema

Vai Sikahema is a retired NFL football player and TV news reporter. A former player for BYU, Vai was the first NFL player of Tongan descent.


Hank Smith

Hank Smith is a Professor of Religion at BYU and a favorite speaker at youth events such as Especially for Youth. Hank is bound to make family history fun and exciting for the rising generation.

In addition to the exhibit hall, classes, and keynotes there will be other events to entertain and engage participants! Last, but certainly not least, don't forget about the Innovator Showdown! The Showdown brings the latest technology innovations in the field of genealogy and family history to compete for cash prizes!
